New Update - What to Expect

Writer's picture: Emily RetamozoEmily Retamozo

December 12th is the big day!

A new update and Sift Pro are coming for ya! We have quite a few changes coming to Sift with the newest update and I want to make sure nothing takes you by surprise.

Let's start with the update:

All users, regardless of if you subscribe to Sift Pro or continue using the free version will notice some pretty big changes with this update. Let me walk you through them.

ONE

Say goodbye to the accept inquiry button & automated accept email.

Why the change: As it works now there is potential for missed communication with your customers. Currently, if you click that pink check mark to let someone know you have accepted their inquiry with the automated email and they reply, you will not receive it. We want to make sure there is no break in communication that could damage your relationship with your clients!

Something to note: The "decline inquiry" button is not going away. You will still be able to tap the gray X to decline an inquiry and fire off the automated "decline" email.

TWO

Start those conversations right from get-go

How is it different: Right now in order to send a message to a client, you first have to “Accept” the inquiry by tapping the pink check mark which sends that automated email. Since we are removing that function, you will now be able to send a message to any client as soon as you receive their inquiry (before accepting or declining it).

Why is this better: This will allow you to ask any clarifying questions or get more information before you decide if you want to accept the inquiry or turn it down.

THREE

New Mark as Accepted button

New Button Location: Since we removed the pink check mark to formally accept an inquiry, we added a new button within a project that will allow you to change the inquiry status from “NEW” to “ACCEPTED."

Key Difference between the old “accept” check mark button and the new “mark as accepted” button: this button will NOT send out any type of automated email to the customer. You will have already been in communication with them, so an added automated email would feel awkward. This button is strictly for you to be able to know what inquires have been accepted and confirmed with the client.

FOUR

The big one - Form Limitations

For Future Sift Users: Anyone who creates a profile and downloads Sift after December 12th will be limited to creating ONE form. To create additional forms, they will have to subscribe to Sift Pro.

For Current Sift Users: Your current forms are not going anywhere!! They will all remain active and usable. But, there is a caveat. You will no longer be able to edit your forms (if you have more than one created). To edit your forms, you will have two options.

  • Option 1: subscribe to Sift Pro.

  • Option 2: Deactivate all but one form. This doesw not require you to delete any forms. Once you do that, you will be able to make edits to any of your forms. However, you will now only be able to have one active form at a time (you can always switch which form is your active one).  You will also no longer be able to create new forms (unless you delete the ones you already have).

Why the change: I know it sounds cruel and like I am forcing you into subscribing to Sift Pro…and if I’m going to continue to be transparent with you, you would be right. Sift has to start making some money so that we can continue on with development and improvements and even just upkeep! I can’t afford to provide a totally free tool forever off of my own cookie business. So the more people I can get to subscribe to Sift Pro, the better the app will be!

I know these are some big changes and that is why I want to make sure I give you the heads up before we make this update live. If you have ANY questions, please reach out (hello@siftmobileapp.com)! I am more than happy to clarify or explain anything at all. I cannot thank you enough for all of your support and for believing in this app!!

Next up on the blog will be a full look into what Sift Pro will offer!
